Ashburn Fire Station

Project Details

The Ashburn Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department (AVFRD) Station #6 was completed in 2016. The station boasts 14 bedrooms, an exercise room, kitchen and living areas, meeting rooms and training facilities. Eight apparatus bays house Ashburn’s engines, trucks, ambulances and command vehicles and five fire poles provide quick access from living and office quarters. The project received a notable mention in the combination/volunteer category for 2016’s Firehouse Magazine Design awards. It also received a 2016 ABC of Metro Washington Excellence in Construction Award for Brick Design and Masonry Installation and was mentioned in a 2017 article for Facility Executive Digital Magazine.

Potomac Valley Brick supplied the Redland Brick Cushwa Plant red brick that covers the exterior of this stately building.
